During the year 2002, we estimate that we used 1,405 hours answering false alarms. In an effort to better utilize our resources we will be contacting the owners of the most frequent false alarms and work toward  reducing or eliminating them.

In addition to this we ask the following:

• Alarm owners make certain that their alarms are updated and functioning correctly
• Should you accidentally set off  your alarm, contact the alarm company and the Windsor Police Department to advise them of the error.
  

The above is the fee schedule for false alarms in the Town of Windsor. Although the Police have been reluctant to implement this recently, false alarms have been on the increase causing a substantial drain on police resources.

Sec. 12-22 of the Town Code, requires that penalties be assessed for four or more false alarms from any one property within a single calendar year.
